Robb Report - Five Jewellery designs made from unusual materials - August 2016

Born in New York and trained in sculpture at Italy’s Florence Academy of Art, Bibi van der Velden launched her exceptionally unique jewellery line in 2005, focusing on recycled and organic materials like baroque pearls, 40,000-year-old mammoth ivory, and preserved scarab beetle wings. Shown here is her 18-karat-gold scarab ring with brown and white diamonds, tsavorite, and orange and yellow sapphires.
